The start: bausparkasse is a German building society based in Hamburg and a subsidiary of the Austrian BAWAG PSK , the eponymous building society in Austria ( start: bausparkasse ) holds.

history

The company emerged from Deutscher Ring Bausparkasse AG, which was founded in Hamburg in 1972 , a company belonging to the Basler Insurance and Signal Iduna Group, with Baloise Insurance being responsible for economic management.

In December 2017 the company was sold to the BAWAG Group. The BAWAG Group is the listed holding company of BAWAG PSK based in Vienna. The sale closed on September 4, 2018. Since January 2019, the company has been operating as start: bausparkasse.
