Stasys Kašauskas

Stasys Kašauskas (born August 10, 1943 in Birikai , Telšiai district ) is a Lithuanian journalist, writer and politician.

Life

From 1962 to 1964 he studied at the Vilniaus universitetas (VU). From 1964 to 1967 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1968 to 1971 he worked in the daily newspapers “ Komjaunimo tiesa ”, “Tiesa” (Lithuanian Pravda ), from 1971 to 1975 in the weekly papersGimtasis kraštas ” and from 1975 to 1980 for “ Literatūra ir menas ”. In 1981 he completed his diploma in journalism at VU. From 1989 to 1990 he was the People's Deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union , and from 1990 to 1992 he was a Deputy in the Seimas . From 1992 to 2000 he was the publisher and editor-in-chief of " Lithuania in the World ".

Since 1998 he has been Honorary Consul General of Dominika .

His brother is the writer Raimondas Kašauskas (* 1934).
