Stasys Vėlyvis

Stasys Vėlyvis (born March 13, 1938 in Varėna , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian lawyer , legal scholar, professor of civil and civil procedural law at the University of Vilnius and at the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1957, Vėlyvis completed his diploma studies at the Vilnius University Law Faculty until 1962 and then worked as an assistant. From 1965 to 1968 he was an aspirant at the University of Moscow and obtained his doctorate in civil procedure law in 1972 on the subject of "Nenagrinėtos civilinės bylos palikimas pirmosios instancijos teisme".

In 1960 he was court secretary in the Vilnius District Court and from 1961 to 1962 senior laboratory assistant at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University, after which he was a lecturer. From 1986 to 1987 and from 1989 to 1991 he headed the chair. Afterwards he was professor and head of the chair in civil procedural law at the Mykolas Romeris University . From 1992 to 1997 he was a member of the board of directors, senior legal consultant and director of the legal department at the Lietuvos taupomasis bankas , from 1997 a member of the board of the AB “ Lietuvos žemės ūkio bankas ”, deputy chairman of the board.
