Station (lat. Statio , stand [ort] ',' stay ') means:

  • the stop in public traffic
  • a train station or stop on the railway, see train station

  • in shipping, the ship's station, the landing stage
  • in the historical postal system a relay station where the riders and horses were changed, see post office
  • in German road construction the location of the kilometering (stationing), see station sign

  • a settlement in colonialism, see mission station
  • a place of worship, see Statio
  • a ski station , i.e. a uniformly designed ski resort, especially in France
