The statuette of Aphrodite in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens ( NAMA ) with the inventory number 3248 is a small Hellenistic statue of the goddess Aphrodite , which was made in the 1st century BC. Was created.

The marble statuette of Aphrodite was found near the Theater of Argos in 1878 . It has a height of 70 centimeters, but this is not the entire original size due to the missing head. The arms are also not preserved. There are also other nicks, especially the folds of the garment. A firmly attached plinth belongs to the statuette . The right leg is the standing leg , the left leg the free leg , which is also placed on a lying goose. The strongly pronounced contrapostal gives the figure its own dynamic, drifting to the right in the lower body and to the left in the upper body to compensate for it. The goddess is shown only with a cloak, the himation , which leaves the shoulders and the right breast uncovered and just covers the other breast. The rest of the body is particularly emphasized by the standing position and the course of the thin coat. Due to stylistic comparisons, the statuette was made in the 1st century BC. Dated.
