Feather duster
A duster (also: Abstauber , wall broom , ceiling broom , dust broom , dust mop or dust magnet ) is a working device in the household , with which one house dust removed at locations which lie outside of the gripping space - for example at the transition from the wall to the ceiling.
nature
It consists of a thin, easily flexible rod to which many bristles made of plastic, feathers or the like (previously also silk) are attached. The bristles are soft and pliable so that the furniture is not scratched. Modern feather dusters have an extendable and lockable telescopic rod so that dust and cobwebs can be easily removed from narrow, hard-to-reach places, for example behind the heater or in high places.
Mode of action
The dust adheres to the fronds due to the static charge , because a mere whirling up of the dust would be detrimental to health. To clean it, it is usually shaken out outdoors.
