The Steg reservoir ( 1295 m above sea level ) is an artificial lake in the immediate vicinity of the Steg settlement in the area of the Triesenberg municipality in Liechtenstein . It is fed by the Valünerbach and Malbunbach. The Gänglesee ( 1301 m above sea level ) is located directly in front of the Steg reservoir .

power plant
The water from the Valünabach and Malbunbach is collected in the Steg reservoir and fed via pressure pipes to the machine house of the Samina pumped storage power plant in Vaduz to generate energy . Up to 2000 l / s (up to 2014 a maximum of 1500 l / s) can be processed.
Sports
The Steg reservoir is used by the Liechtenstein Fishing Association for sport fishing all year round, for which catchable brown trout are used.
In winter, a cross-country ski run is laid out next to the reservoir.
