SteamWorld Heist is a turn-based strategy shooter that was developed by the Swedish development studio Image & Form and first released for Nintendo 3DS on December 10, 2015 . On June 7, 2016, the game was ported to Microsoft Windows , macOS and Linux . For the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita it was released on June 7, 2016 in Europe and on June 8, 2016 in North America and Australia, for the Wii U on September 30, 2016 in Europe and Australia and on October 20, 2016 in North America for iOS on November 9, 2016 and for the Nintendo Switch on December 28, 2017. It is the third part of the SteamWorld series .

SteamWorld Heist was largely positively received by the trade press. On the rating website Metacritic , the Nintendo 3DS version has a Metascore of 86 out of 100 possible points, based on 47 ratings. The German-language computer game magazine ntower rated the Nintendo Switch version with 9 out of a total of 10 possible points.
