Stefan Ertl (born April 21, 1969 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) is a former German football player .
Career
Ertl started his professional career at Borussia Mönchengladbach after he had previously played in the Pfalz at SV Geinsheim and VfR Frankenthal . For Mönchengladbach he was successful in his first game on August 15, 1992 in Karlsruhe with a goal to make it 2-1 (final score 2-4 for KSC). This goal should remain his only goal in professional football. After he came to nine missions at the end of the season, he moved to Fortuna Cologne in the 2nd Bundesliga for the 1993/94 season , where he was only used sporadically and mostly as a substitute. After just one season in Cologne, he went back to the south-west, where he played for TSG Pfeddersheim for three years. In 1997, 1. FC Kaiserslautern was his next stop. With the Red Devils he became German champion in 1998 , although he only played five games with the professionals and was mostly used with the amateurs (eight goals in 18 games in the Regionalliga West / Südwest ).
In 1998 he moved to the Regionalliga Süd to Kickers Offenbach , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd league in the first year as a regular player and with six goals scored. Here he was used in seven of the first eight games of the season, but then suffered a broken tibia and fibula, so that he did not play another game. So he could not prevent Offenbach's relegation from the 2nd division. 2000/01 he played again regularly in the Regionalliga Süd. After Offenbach was only tenth at the end of the season, he left the club and went to Karlsruher SC, who had just been promoted from the same league to the 2nd division .
In the North Baden Ertl could not prevail and in his ten missions in the 2001/02 season was mostly substituted shortly before the end. In 2002/03 he was not used at all with the professionals and finally switched to Wormatia Worms , where he let his career end. In 2006 Stefan Ertl ended his career.
