Stefan Hampl (born September 17, 1974 in Nuremberg ) is a German football player .
Career
Born in Nuremberg, Stefan Hampl began playing club football at 1. FC Nürnberg at the age of four . At the “Club” he went through all youth teams and went to SpVgg Ansbach as an A-youth , where he later also gained his first experience in the senior sector. Stefan Hampl moved from the then regional league club SC 04 Schwabach to SC Freiburg in 1998 .
In the Breisgau he was mainly used in the second team in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , but also played a few times in the Bundesliga for the SCF. He made his Bundesliga debut on March 6, 1999 against FC Bayern Munich . Under long-time coach Volker Finke , he played five more Bundesliga games in 1999, but was unable to assert himself in the professional team.
In 2000 he decided to return to his Bavarian homeland and moved to the regional league club SV Wacker Burghausen , where he was able to excel as a goalscorer several times, but was often used as a "joker". He became a goalscorer again after moving to the Bayern division 1. SC Feucht in the 2002/03 season. With 15 goals he contributed to the team's promotion to the regional league and was very successful there in the following year with twelve goals. They secured relegation and finished in 8th place in the table after a particularly good yield of points in the final phase of the season. During the season, however, there had been internal disputes between Hampl and the SC management. He said goodbye and went to the Stuttgarter Kickers , also a regional league. He stayed there for only half a year and then joined FC Ingolstadt 04 . Due to an injury he did not appear at all in 2004/05 and only three times for the Bayernliga team in 2005/06. In 2006 he was able to celebrate promotion to the regional league with his team, even if he could only contribute little.
After he had bad luck with an injury again at his next stop at FSV Erlangen-Bruck (regional league) and the continuation of his career was in the meantime questionable, he has since been active for lower-class clubs, including as a player-coach.
