Stefan Plaimauer

Stefan Plaimauer (born December 4, 1896 in Vienna , † December 19, 1977 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and head of office. He was a member of the Styrian Landtag , from 1953 to 1956 a member of the Federal Council and from 1956 to 1962 a member of the Austrian National Council .

Plaimauer learned the profession of blacksmith after eight classes in elementary school and between 1915 and 1925 worked as a foreman in the Alpine Montangesellschaft in Donawitz. In 1925 he became district secretary of the Social Democratic Workers' Party in Leoben, and in 1933 district secretary in Mürzzuschlag. In the course of the Austrian Civil War , Plaimauer was imprisoned in 1934 and was subsequently unemployed until 1938. He worked as an unskilled worker at the Schoeller-Bleckmann company in Hönigsberg and was a foreman's foreman. In 1945 he became head of the Mürzzuschlag labor office and, in 1949, secretary of the Styrian regional labor office.

Plaimauer was politically active between 1945 and 1953 as a member of the Styrian state parliament, between April 15, 1953 and June 8, 1956, he was a member of the Federal Council, then from June 8, 1956 to December 14, 1962, a member of the National Council.
