Sansevieria erythraeae is a species of the genus Sansevieria in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). The specific epithet erythraeae indicates the place where it was found in Eritrea.
description
Sansevieria erythraeae grows stemless as a perennial , succulent plant with rhizomes . The six to eight two-line and upright leaves are cylindrical in shape. They have a short groove on the top and five furrows on the bottom. The simple leaf blade is 40 to 50 centimeters long. It gradually narrows into a 2 to 3 millimeter long, dry, hard spade tip. The leaves are green. The leaf surface is smooth.
The single- eared inflorescences are up to 50 centimeters high. The panicles are densely populated with three to five flowers per cluster. The ovate-lanceolate-shaped support sheet is pointed. The flower stalk is 7 to 8 millimeters long. The flower tube is 5 to 7 millimeters long. The tips are larger than 7 millimeters.

Sansevieria erythraeae is distributed in Eritrea , Ethiopia and Sudan in semi-desert-like areas along rivers between 1200 and 2100 meters above sea level.
Taxonomy
The first description of Sansevieria erythraeae was in 1918 by Giovanni Ettore Mattei (1865-1943). A synonym for Sansevieria erythraeae Mattei is Sansevieria schweinfurthii Täckh. & Drar (1954, nom. Illeg. ICBN -Article 36.1).
