Stefan Roehnert

Stefan Roehnert (born October 19, 1977 in Koblenz ) is a former German rower who was vice world champion three times in the 1990s.

Stefan Roehnert rowed for the Koblenz RC Rhenania . In 1995 he was junior world champion in double sculls . In 1997, the 1.92 m tall Roehnert won the German championship title in four-four together with Jens Burow , Marco Geisler and Sebastian Mayer . In the 1997 World Rowing Championships drew Marcel Hacker for Mayer into the boat, the quadruple sculls won the silver medal behind the Italians. In 1998 Mayer, Geisler, Hacker and Roehnert won the title at the German championships, with this line-up the boat also took second place at the 1998 World Rowing Championships , as in 1997 the Italians won the gold medal.

Between 1998 and 2000 Sebastian Mayer and Stefan Roehnert won the German championship title in double sculls . At the 1999 World Rowing Championships , the two took second place behind the Slovenian boat. The Slovenes also won the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Mayer and Roehnert rowed to fourth place in the Olympic final. In 2001 Roehnert won the championship title in double sculls together with Stephan Volkert . 2002 occupied Roehnert in one second behind Marcel Hacker.
