Stefan Selle

Stefan Selle (born September 2, 1980 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German basketball player . In the course of his career, the 1.98-meter-tall winger played 25 games in the basketball league for the central German BC .

career

Selle became German B youth champions in 1997 with SV Halle , then played for the club in the 2nd basketball league and from 1999 for SSV Weißenfels (later renamed Mitteldeutscher BC) in the basketball league . By 2002 he had completed 25 first division games for the club. His average maximum playing time in Germany's best basketball league was in the 2000/01 season, when he stood on the floor for an average of six minutes per game for the MBC. The best performance of his Bundesliga career was six points in a duel with Giessen in December 2001. “I tried for three years to assert myself in the first Bundesliga. But it didn't work out. I've just drawn a line and will reorient myself, ”Selle told the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in July 2002.

After saying goodbye to Central German BC, Selle played in the Regionalliga in Mannheim in 2002/03 and then between 2003 and 2005 at USC Heidelberg in the 2nd basketball league . After that he was again briefly active in Mannheim as well as in lower class at BC Wiesbaden. Selle completed a degree in business administration .

National team

In 1998 and 2000 Selle took part in the elimination round for the European Championships with the German junior national team.
