Stefan Swieżawski (born February 10, 1907 in Hołubie , † May 18, 2004 in Konstancin-Jeziorna ) was a Polish philosopher . He was interested in the history of philosophy, was a co-founder of the Lublin School of Philosophy and also the founder of the Polish School of the History of Medieval Philosophy.

From 1925 to 1929 he studied philosophy at the Philosophical Faculty of the Jan Kazimierz University in Lemberg under Kazimierz Twardowski , Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz , Roman Ingarden and history under Jan Ptaśnik. From 1948 to 1978 he was head of the Department of History of Medieval and Contemporary Philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin .

He was the author of 200 scientific publications, including 20 books.
