Stefan Tymkewycz

Stefan Tymkewycz (* 1959 in Abbeyhill, now Edinburgh ) is a Scottish politician and a member of the Scottish National Party .

The former police officer Tymkewycz is now the owner of a project protection company. In the SNP he had been active as an election campaign coordinator since 1999. In 2003 he applied for a seat on the Edinburgh City Council for the first time. In 2007 he was elected to the Edinburgh City Council for the SNP. In the Scottish parliamentary elections in 2007 Tymkewycz went to national elections for the first time. He applied for a list mandate for the Lothians electoral region and took fifth place on the SNP's regional electoral list . As a result of the election result, he moved into the Scottish Parliament . Just three months later, Tymkewycz announced his resignation in order to focus on his position on the city council. He resigned from parliament on August 31, 2007 and has been the shortest-serving Scottish MP to date with 121 days. His party colleague Shirley-Anne Somerville was ready to succeed .
