Stefan Wess

Stefan Wess (born May 30, 1994 in Münster ) is a German basketball player . The 2.03-meter-tall winger is under contract with the WWU Baskets of UBC Münster in the second basketball Bundesliga Pro B.

Career

Wess began his career at TSC Münster. At the age of 13 he moved to UBC Münster . There he played in the youth basketball league (JBBL) and in the youth basketball league (NBBL) . At the age of 16, he was already an integral part of the 1st men's team of the UBC Münster in the 1st Regional League West. In 2012 he took part in the Albert Schweitzer tournament and the U18 European Championship. After graduating from high school, Wess moved to the Pro B league team Baskets Akademie Weser-Ems in Oldenburg in 2013 at the age of 19. In Oldenburg he was able to win the Pro B championship in both the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. Due to strong performances in the 2015/16 season, he was nominated for the A2 national team of the German Basketball Federation . With this he took part in the Sino-European Men's Basketball Championship in China in summer 2016. In the 2016/17 season he moved to the Pro A league club Niners Chemnitz . With these he reached the Pro A semifinals and narrowly missed promotion to the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga after being beaten 2: 3 against the Oettinger Rockets Gotha in a best-of-five series.

In summer 2017 he returned to his hometown and signed a contract with the regional division UBC Münster . Wess led his hometown club straight to the championship title and played with Münster in the second basketball Bundesliga Pro B in the 2018/19 season, where they became runner-up as a newcomer.
