Stefan Wittwer (born March 26, 1971 ) is a former Swiss Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Wittwer made his international debut in the winter of 1991/92 as part of the B-World Cup in Nordic Combined . In his first season he reached 32nd place overall with 10 points. In the 1994/95 season he was able to improve slightly and was at the end of 30. The best result was a second place in the Oberhof individual . Before that, he had switched to the Nordic Combined World Cup for a few races , where he secured 48th place overall. However, it remained his only points in the World Cup. In February 1995 he started as a member of the Swiss team at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Thunder Bay . There he won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Markus Wüst , Armin Krügel and Jean-Yves Cuendet . In the following B World Cup season, he finished second in the overall standings. After another season in 1996/97 Wittwer ended his active combined career.

After his active career, he went to the Central Switzerland Ski Association as a trainer and official. He later coached the Swiss junior squad and switched to the B-squad as head coach for the 2002/03 season.
