Stefanie Nauheimer (born November 18, 1868 in Linz , † April 29, 1946 in Vienna ) was an Austrian women's rights activist.

Live and act

Stefanie Nauheimer graduated from the teacher training college in Vienna and passed the teaching qualification test for elementary schools in 1889.

As a teacher, she was committed to the legal equality of female teachers and worked together with Leopoldine Glöckel and Auguste Fickert in the fight for a corresponding amendment to the Reich Primary School Act of 1867 . She was also one of the founders of the Association of Teachers and Educators , from which the women's group of the Central Association of Viennese teachers developed. She was also the first woman to be elected to the District School Board in the 1911 district school council elections.

After the First World War, Stefanie Nauheimer was District Councilor of the 12th Viennese district of Meidling from 1919 to 1927 . Since she had retired as a teacher since 1920, she was able to devote herself more to the women's movement and the struggle for equal rights for women.

In 1952, Nauheimergasse in Vienna-Meidling was named in her honor .
