Stefanie Szczurek

Stefanie Szczurek (born November 29, 1986 in Schmalkalden ) is a former German bobsleigh driver .

Stefanie Szczurek is police chief and starts for the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof . The former track and field athlete was Claudia Schramm's pusher alongside Patricia Polifka and Nicole Herschmann until the 2006/07 season . In 2004 she won the silver medal at the European Championships. The best World Cup placements were third places, 2004 in Sigulda , 2005 in Igls .

From the 2007/08 season Stefanie Szczurek started as a pilot, initially in the European Cup. Franziska Bertels and Melanie Jawerka were among her pushers . Her best result of the season was the third place at the European Cup in Winterberg . In the overall ranking of the European Cup, she took seventh place. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 Szczurek started with Patricia Polifka. The former pushing colleagues from the bobsleigh team Claudia Schramm won the silver medal five hundredths behind the victorious bobsleigh from Switzerland.

Szczurek achieved her greatest sporting success to date at the 2015 World Championships in Winterberg , where she took fourth place with Erline Nolte .
