Steffen Döring
Steffen Döring (also: Steffen Doering , born October 4, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German speed skater. He started for the German Democratic Republic in 1980 at the Olympic Winter Games and during his active time competed for the Berlin TSC .
Career
In 1979, Döring won two youth world records in the sprint all-around and over the 500 m distance at the GDR test runs in Alma Ata , Kazakh SSR . In the course of the year he achieved further national and international victories (Innsbruck 1980). He was nominated for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid by the GDR National Olympic Committee and competed twice. However, he came in 11th place in the 500-meter runs and only 26th in the 1000-meter runs.

Döring is married to Conny (Jacob) . In 2004 he and his wife became an honorary member of the Berlin TSC .
