Steffen Kind (* 1952 ) is a German civil engineer and professor at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences , Faculty of Civil Engineering .

Life

After completing his degree in civil engineering and then completing his doctorate on a topic of composite steel construction , he worked in a research institute and a steel construction company. He then worked as a senior engineer in a steel composite construction company.

In 1991, Kind was appointed professor for steel construction and statics at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, he reads the subjects of composite steel construction and glass construction. He served as vice dean and dean .

He has over 120 specialist publications, including eight patents. He works in various specialist committees.

In 1988 he founded the engineering office Prof. Kind & Partner, today with several branches in the Rhine-Main area . The main focus of processing is structural planning (statics and construction), structural testing and expert opinions, especially in the case of structural damage. Kind is a test engineer for all disciplines (solid construction, metal construction, wood construction), a publicly appointed and sworn expert and welding engineer .

Child is married and has two grown daughters.
