Steffen Marciniak is a German writer . He lives in Berlin .

Life

Born in Stralsund, where he graduated from high school and studied economics, later cultural studies at the Berlin Humboldt University . Marciniak has lived in Berlin since 1988. Marciniak worked in Berlin for many years in an art bookstore and later as an antiquarian. Since 2007 he has been the first editor for the novels by Abbas Khider , and from 2014–15 he has been the poetry editor at Aphaia Verlag (Berlin). a. for Harald Gröhler , Frederike Frei , Hans-Christian Tappe , Martin A. Völker , Alexander Günther and Max Drushinin . Steffen Marcinia's first book was published in 2014 by Aphaia Verlag. Since then, further independent publications and contributions to anthologies in various publishers have followed. Since the end of 2016 he has been a lecturer for poetry and queer literature at the megalomania publishing house (Frankfurt / M.) And one of the editors of the book series “Greek Invitation”. In 2016 he curated and moderated several events of the “Karlshorster Abendgesellschaft” in Berlin and on Crete / Greece on cultural-political issues for Anthea-Verlag (Berlin). He invited the conversation partners Ralf Gnosa , Harald Gröhler, Sigrun Casper , Thomas Pregel , Peter Völker , Bisera Boškailo and Marion Schneider . In February 2017 he was co-organizer of the six-day 4th Greek-German Reading Festival in the Terzo Gallery in Berlin, on the occasion of Kostas Papanastasiou's 80th birthday , with over 50 participants in 32 events.

Steffen Marciniak is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS), the Plesse group of authors and the literary associations of the Paul Ernst Society and the Klaus Mann Initiative Berlin eV

Since 2014 individual works of the series "Ephebische Novellen", conceived as a nonalogy, have been published, in which secondary characters from the Greek mythology are at the center of the stories. Each of the self-contained short stories is illustrated by a different artist. Furthermore, essays and poetry have appeared in anthologies.
