Constantin "Kostas" Papanastasiou ( Greek Κώστας Παπαναστασίου , born February 8, 1937 in Karditsa , Greece ) is a Greek actor .

He was best known on German television for the role of the Greek host Panaiotis Sarikakis, which he played in the series Lindenstrasse from 1985 to 1996. Papanastasiou studied architecture in Berlin and took acting lessons. In addition to acting, he devoted himself to the dissemination of Greek songs - u. a. with songs by Mikis Theodorakis and Georges Moustaki - and gives regular concerts.

In Berlin he has been running the Greek restaurant Terzo Mondo on Grolmanstrasse (between Savignyplatz and Kurfürstendamm ) since 1972 . In addition to his role in Lindenstrasse , his most famous film works were made under the direction of Bernhard Wicki : 1977 The Conquest of the Citadel and 1989 The Spider Web . In 2004 he was seen in the feature film Shots in a completely different role than his previous ones. From July 2010 he was seen in the musical "Inselkomödie" in the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm ( Berliner Ensemble ). He has been providing humanitarian aid to Georgia for many years . On November 20, 2011, Papanastasiou gave a concert in the chamber music hall of the Berlin Philharmonic on the occasion of his 55-year stay in Berlin. On October 4, 2012, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his social commitment .

Papanastasiou got involved in the discussion about the Greek sovereign debt crisis and criticized an "anti-Greek mood" in Germany. In 2014 he complained that because of his opinions, customers stayed away from his restaurant.
