Marion Schneider (author, 1956)
Marion Schneider (born December 31, 1956 in Grebenhain ) is a German entrepreneur and author .
School and study
After receiving her diploma in economics and social sciences at the Alexander von Humboldt School in Lauterbach (Hessen) , Schneider studied history, German language and literature as well as folklore at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg from 1975 to 1982 . She completed her studies with the state examination.
Professional background
From 1978 to 1979 Schneider worked as a language teacher in Halifax (West Yorkshire) .
From 1983 to 1987 she worked as an authorized signatory at Saunalux in Grebenhain . She founded her own company in 1988 and together with her husband Klaus Dieter Böhm she founded the Bad Sulza Clinic Center in 1990 . The rehabilitation clinic is now part of the Toskanaworld GmbH group of companies owned and managed by Böhm and Schneider, with five hotels and three thermal baths in three different German states
Voluntary engagement / memberships
Marion Schneider is the chairwoman of the international children's aid organization Ourchild e. V. and as a board member of Auerworld Festival e. V., the private institute for media and cultural diversity e. V., the Integralis e. V., the Society for the Promotion of a Good Life e. V. and as chairwoman of the board of the Prager-Haus Apolda e. V. active. She is also on the board of the Saxon Spa Association and on the advisory board of ASTECC - The American Spa Therapy and Education Certification Council, Florida, on the National Advisory Board of the “Corporate Health Improvement Program” of the University of Arizona , USA, and an associated member of the Hot Springs Initiative of the Global Wellness Institute.
Author
Together with the New York art photographer Linda Troeller, Schneider published the books The Erotic Lives of Women and Orgasm: Photographs and Interviews , which was published in German in 2016 under the title Orgasmus: Interviews and Photographs by the konkursbuch Verlag . In 2015 Schneider published the fiction work Everything in me you stirred up . Schneider is also the author of essays, short stories and poems. In May 2018 she published the book Kein Kernkraftwerk in Wyhl and not elsewhere in the Metropol Verlag , in which she processes her interviews with the fisherman and nuclear opponent Balthasar Ehret.
Together with Linda Troeller, a retrospective of the works of Linda Troeller by Marion Schneider was realized in the Kulturfabrik Apolda in 2019. This first exhibition is to be continued over the next few years as a conference under the name "MutmachKongress" and expanded into a social, political and artistic platform especially for women.

As part of the 2017 federal election , Marion Schneider ran as a non-party direct candidate in the Jena - Sömmerda - Weimarer Land I constituency . She received 1.0% of the first votes (1,550).
Honors
Marion Schneider was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 in Weimarer Land:
On December 3, 2018, Schneider was awarded the Thuringian Order of Merit.
Marion Schneider is an honorary citizen of Bad Sulza, Thuringia.
