Saxon Spa Association

In the Sächsischer Heilbäderverband eV , health resorts , health clinics, health spas , spa and wellness hotels as well as institutions in the Free State of Saxony have been organized to work together in the health and wellness tourism sector. According to the Sächsisches Kurortegesetz (SächsKurG), the association is a permanent member of the advisory board. The association was founded on May 17, 1990 in Bad Gottleuba and is based in Dresden . In 2010, the regional association left the German Spas Association .

tasks and goals

The association brings together state-recognized therapeutic spa facilities, scientific research facilities, health baths and wellness facilities. In addition to the state-recognized health resorts, the association also includes places that are seeking recognition as health resorts in the near future. As part of its participation in the state advisory board in accordance with the SächsKurG, the association advises the Saxon State Ministry for Economics, Labor and Transport on the decision on the rating of health resorts and recreation locations in Saxony and supports the locations and facilities in the application process. One of the main tasks of the association is to advise patients and guests on indications and offers of the health resorts and spa facilities in Saxony, which they have at their disposal due to their special natural remedies and healing methods .

The spa association, which was not founded for the purpose of making a profit , advises and represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis the state government, organizations and authorities and cost bearers . It promotes the sustainability of the economic development of the Saxon spa and health facilities as well as the state-approved health resorts. At the same time, the association promotes scientific exchange between the spa facilities and the balneological research facilities. The Saxon Spa Association advises and supports its members on issues relating to bathing and health tourism. In addition, the association coordinates the advertising for the spa facilities and health resorts.

organs

The organs of the association are the general assembly and the board as well as the marketing committee and topic-related working groups. Karl-Ludwig Resch (Research Institute for Balneology and Spa Science Bad Elster) has been president of the association since 2013. Ricarda Lorenz (Thermalbad Wiesenbad) was elected as Vice President and Michael Hultsch (Bad Lausick) as treasurer.
