The Alexander-von-Humboldt-Schule is a grammar school of the Vogelsbergkreis in Lauterbach , which accepts students from the beginning of grade 5 and leads to general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) in eight years (previously in nine years).
School and building
It is named after the German natural scientist Alexander von Humboldt .
A “Latin school” is documented for Lauterbach as early as 1801. For the year 1902 the school program of a "higher citizen school" is recorded.
The new building (house B) completed in 1902 on the city's former cemetery was included in the list of cultural monuments in Hesse, as was House A, the former Reichsbank building.
