Michael Ruhl (* 29. September 1984 in Lauterbach ) is a German politician of the CDU .

Life

After graduating from the Alexander von Humboldt School in Lauterbach , Ruhl studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt , which he completed with a diploma. He was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . He then took up a position at the banking supervisory authority of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt am Main , where he has since worked on fundamental questions of accounting and regulatory disclosure as a senior adviser to the Bundesbank.

Ruhl began his political career in the Junge Union . From 2003 to 2011 he was district chairman of the JU Vogelsberg and from 2007 to 2013 a member of the state board of the JU Hessen. In 2014 he was elected honorary chairman of the JU Vogelsberg. Since 2011 he has been chairman of the CDU city association Herbstein and since 2014 deputy chairman of the CDU district association Vogelsberg.

Ruhl has been a member of the Herbstein City Council since 2006 and has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there since 2016. He has been a member of the Vogelsbergkreis district council since 2011, and has been chairman of the main, finance and economic committee there since 2016. In the state election in 2018 , he ran as a candidate for the CDU in constituency 20 (Vogelsberg) and won the direct mandate with around 3,000 votes ahead of the runner-up. He moved into the Hessian state parliament as a directly elected member . There he is a member of the Budget Committee, the "Committee on Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection" and the "Subcommittee on Financial Controlling and Administrative Control".

Michael Ruhl is married, has one son and lives in Herbstein. In his free time he is involved in a large number of clubs. He is a member of the operations department in the Herbstein volunteer fire brigade, an active shooter in the Herbstein shooting club and an active fasting night. In 2012 he was "Bajazz" and led the traditional carnival parade in Herbstein.
