Steffen Zeibig

Steffen Zeibig (born June 11, 1977 in Dresden ) is a German dressage rider in equestrian sports for the disabled . He starts in competition class (Grade) III.

Career

Zeibig grew up with his mother, his brother ten years older and his sister one year younger. His riding career began when he was eight when his mother gave him a Shetland pony . In 1991 he took part in a horse show for the first time , until 2001 he also started in show jumping up to class M. As a dressage rider he started in tests up to class S.

Steffen Zeibig is missing his right forearm, right lower leg and left foot. In equestrian sports for the disabled he was initially assigned to grade II, since 2001 he has been classified as grade III. After a change in the regulations, it started again in Grade II in 2015, which was renamed Grade III at the beginning of 2017.

One of his greatest successes was his first participation in the Summer Paralympics in Hong Kong in 2008. In 2012 he was also in the Paralympics in London . 2016 in Rio de Janeiro he won with the team at the end of silver in the individual competition he came into the class Grade II just behind the Dutch Rixt van der Horst on rank 4. At the German Championships in 2017 in the Grade III he came Feel Good on the third rank.

Awards

In November 2012, she and 163 other athletes were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .
