Steigenberger Academy
The Steigenberger Academy in Bad Reichenhall is a state-recognized, private hotel management school and offers training and further education in the hotel industry. Graduates include the star chefs Alfons Schuhbeck and André Münch .
history
In 1948 the school was founded by the regional association of the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association in Wildbad-Kreuth, and in 1957 the hotel vocational school was established in Bad Reichenhall. In 1972 it was taken over by the Steigenberger Hotelgesellschaft. The group expanded the existing educational offer of the one-year hotel vocational school in 1993 with the training course for state-certified hotel management and in 2003 with training as a hotel economist.
In April 2008 the academy agreed a joint venture with Career Partner GmbH to further expand the educational offerings in Bad Reichenhall. Since 2009, the Steigenberger Academy, in cooperation with the IUBH, has offered the dual bachelor's degree in Tourism Management and the English-language degree in Hotel Management on the Bad Reichenhall campus.
In 2011 it was taken over by Career Partner GmbH Munich.
In October 2019, the school principal Bettina Wolf took over the training institute from the previous owner, Career Partner GmbH in Munich. She will also be managing the school in the future. The active cooperation with Deutsche Hospitality is to be continued.
School hotel and school restaurant
The academy is set up like a school hotel: Your students get to know the tasks in the hotel business at the in-house reception, in housekeeping, in the school restaurant and at different stations in the kitchen including their own patisserie. Many training courses include practical phases at well-known hotels outside of the academy.
The offer includes training courses lasting several weeks to three years:
