The Steinbrecher Fuss was a measure of length in the Swiss canton of Bern . It was used to measure stones in quarries and to trade stones. Its length was 1 inch longer than the Bernese shoe taken for the field survey , which was 12 inches or 0.29326 meters. So had

  • 1 stone crusher foot = 0.317696 meters
  • 1 stone crusher foot = 13 Berner inches

The measure was also available as a Steinbrecher cubic foot.

  • 70 Steinbrecher cubic feet = 89 Bern cubic feet or in the ratio 12:13
