Stone circles in Burnmoor

The Burnmoor Stone Circles are a group of five, approximately 4,000 year old Bronze Age stone circles , approximately 1.6 km north of the village of Boot in the Lake District in southwest Cumbria in England .

Brat's Hill stone circle

Brat's Hill (also called Eskdale) is the largest stone circle with about 42 stones that form an irregular circle with a diameter of about 30.0 meters. Within the circle are five small cairns and two other stones. About 10.0 meters northwest of the circle is an outlier (outer stone).

White moss stone circles

About 100 meters northwest of the Brat's Hill stone circle is the White Moss North East stone circle. It is about 16.0 meters in diameter and 11 stones. White Moss South West is 54 meters further and is 16.5 meters in diameter and 14 stones. The stone circles have inner cairns.

Low Longrigg stone circles

About 400 meters northwest of the Brat's Hill stone circle are the two Low Longrigg stone circles. Low Longrigg North East's irregular circle is approximately 21.0 meters in diameter and has 15 stones. It contains two cairns. Low Longrigg South West is about 15 meters in diameter and nine stones. It contains a central cairn.

Nearby are the Hard Knott mountain , the Hardknott Pass and the remains of the Roman fort.
