Stone cross in barns
The stone cross in Stadeln is a historic stone cross in the Stadeln district of Fürth . The Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation lists it under monument number D-5-63-000-1644.
Location
The stone cross stands in a green area at the intersection of Theodor-Heuss-Straße / Alfred-Nobel-Straße. Right next to the cross was the Stadelner Kiefer , which was a registered natural monument until August 2013 . The tree, which is over 200 years old, had to be felled due to rot damage .

The heavily mossy and weathered sandstone cross is about one meter high, a maximum of 46 cm wide and 35 cm deep.
history
Nothing is known about the meaning of the stone cross, which probably dates from the 16th century. As with most such crosses, it is believed to have been erected on the site of a calamity or as a stone of atonement for a murder . Documented another stone crosses and a were in stalls Ruhstein and a shrine mentioned. Today the stone cross on Theodor-Heuss-Straße is the only preserved land monument in the Fürth district.
