Steinstrasse 13

The house at Steinstrasse 13 d in Düsseldorf was built from October 1903 to June 1904 by the architect Richard Bauer as a three-storey residential building.

The house was "a union of the apartment with the business premises for a lawyer". A large arched entrance opened up the living areas, while a smaller, separate entrance on the right-hand side led to the offices on the ground floor. The utility rooms were also located there. The client's living quarters were on the two upper floors. The first floor contained three living rooms, a bay room and the dining room with winter garden, which were grouped around a hallway. The single-storey hall was designed "remarkably", it showed a very large fireplace niche and had the character of a cozy living room. The second floor had three living rooms, two bedrooms, the bathroom and a guest room. The facade was partly made of smooth, gray-blue spray plaster, with dark blue, weatherproof panels and inlays of opalescent glass being used. The woodwork used on the facade was blue with yellow ornaments. The roof was covered with red beaver tails , the bay window and the roof over the front door with copper. The differently treated plaster surfaces and the use of colored tiles enlivened the facades. The building has not been preserved. At this point there is now an entrance to the Kö-Galerie .
