Stella Carinthia
Stella Carinthia is an Austrian astro club in western Carinthia .
purpose
The purpose of the association is to promote amateur astronomy in the Carinthian observation center Emberger Alm . A telescope meeting of Austrian and German star friends has been taking place every autumn on this high alpine pasture , one of the best observation places in Upper Carinthia .
The non-profit association is based in Berg im Drautal near the town of Greifenburg . Its purpose is the preservation, expansion and protection of the observation center Emberger Alm, the promotion of international contacts and talents, as well as the dissemination of astronomical knowledge in the sense of popular education . An important goal for this is the organization of astro seminars and the annual international telescope meeting on the Emberger Alm at around 1,800 meters above sea level.
