Stella Meghie (* in Toronto , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian film director , screenwriter and film producer . She lives in Los Angeles .

Life

Stella Meghie worked in New York in the fashion industry in the field of public relations. She graduated from the University of Westminster and did her Masters in Screenwriting . Her film debut Jean and the Joneses was nominated for the 2016 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival, the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and the Zurich Film Festival . In 2017 the film received an award at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival. This was followed in the same year by the MGM production Everything, Everything based on the novel of the same name by Nicola Yoon with Amandla Stenberg in the lead role. In 2018, The Weekend premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival . The Photograph hit theaters on February 14, 2020 .
