The Stenhouse Bluff is a rocky headland at the head of Visca Anchorage , a side bay of the Admiralty Bay in the south of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
It was discovered during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Charcot . It is named after Joseph Russell Stenhouse (1887-1941), first officer and later captain of the Aurora in the Endurance Expedition (1914-1917) and captain of the Discovery in the waters around the South Shetland Islands in 1927 as part of the Discovery Investigations .
