Stenocereus treleasei is a species of Stenocereus in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the American botanist William Trelease . A Spanish common name is "Tunillo".

Stenocereus treleasei grows shrubby or tree-like with a few branched shoots or is unbranched and reaches heights of 2 to 4 meters. Sometimes a distinct trunk is formed. The upright, columnar, dark green to bluish green shoots have a diameter of up to 22 centimeters. There are 15 to 20 blunt and somewhat arched ribs . The thorns can often not be divided into central and radial spines. The one to four central spines are 4 to 5 inches long. One of them is longer than the rest. The ten to 13 yellowish radial spines are 5 to 12 millimeters long.
The tubular, pink flowers appear near the shoot tips and open at night. They are 4 to 5 inches long. The spherical, red fruits reach a diameter of up to 5 centimeters. The flesh is dark red.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Stenocereus treleasei is common in the Mexican state of Oaxaca at altitudes of 1,300 to 1,800 m. It was first described as Lemaireocereus treleasei in 1909 by Joseph Nelson Rose . Curt Backeberg placed the species in the genus Stenocereus in 1960 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
