The Stenochilidae are a family of real spiders from the superfamily of the Palpimaniodea . The family currently comprises two genera and 13 species . (As of June 2016)

features

Stenochilidae reach a total length of 3.5 to 10 mm. Your deep red, heavily tuberculated carapace is diamond-shaped with the widest point behind the second pair of legs. The front row of eyes is slightly bent back and the rear row strongly bent forward. The anterior median eyes are dark, the others are light. The posterior median eyes are elongated, the others circular.

The species of the family Stenochilidae are distributed from Southeast Asia ( Calopea ) to India ( Stenochilus ).

Systematics

Since the 1984 revision by Forster & Platnick, Stenochilidae are now part of the Palpimanoidea superfamily and no longer belong to the Archaeidea. The World Spider Catalog currently lists two genera and 13 species for the Stenochilidae. (As of June 2016)
