Bosshard is the son of a market trader from Zurich and at the age of 16 he took part in his business after graduating from secondary school . In 1985 he opened a “Brezeli Beck” stand in Zurich, where he sold freshly baked giant pretzels . By the end of the 1980s, the company, now known as the “Brezelkönig”, had several branches, and in 1996 Bosshard set up a production facility in Emmenbrücke .

In 2000, when “Brezelkönig” was represented in many cities in German-speaking Switzerland, Bosshard sold the company - according to media reports for a double-digit million amount - to the German pretzel bakery Ditsch , which was later taken over by the Valora Group. He continues to operate as an operator of market stalls.
