Stephan Breuing (born September 21, 1985 in Bochum ) is a German canoeist .

Breuing achieved his first major international successes in 2001 at the Junior World Championships, when he and Tomasz Wylenzek became Junior World Champion in the two-man canoe over 500 m and the four-man canoe over 1000 m.

At the European Championships in 2005 and 2006, he won the four-man canoe over 1000 m. Breuing is part of the racing team of the Canoe Club Wiking Bochum. Together with his partner Tomasz Wylenzek from KG Essen , he was unbeaten nationally in the two-man canoe over 200 m and 1000 m from 2003 to 2008. Stephan Breuing celebrated his greatest success in 2006 when he won the world championship in the four-man canoe over 1000 m in Szeged / Hungary.

Overall, he was 3 times world champion and 4 times European champion. In 2007 Stephan Breuing received the award from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for special sporting achievements.
