Stephan Groth
Stephan Leonard Groth (born August 10, 1971 in Odense , Denmark ) is the head of the band Apoptygma Berzerk .
With Thomas, Andreas and Jonas he has three brothers who are also musicians. His family moved in 1986 to Sarpsborg , the birthplace of his father Jan (born February 25, 1946). His father is a musician in the jazz band Aunt Mary , mother Lise was a DJ .
In 1989 he founded the electrical project Apoptygma Berzerk (APB) together with Jon Erik Martinsen. Martinsen left the band the next year and has been in the synth-pop act "Sweep" since 1997. Stephan Groth went on alone. In addition, Groth founded several side projects, such as "Germ", together with the former APB guitarist Anders Odden, "H 2 O" with APB keyboardist Geir Bratland , "TB Moonchild", "Total Transformation", "Acid Queen" and "Fairlight Children". Albums were created from the latter three projects.
Stephan Groth has a daughter (* 1996) and lives in Fredrikstad .
