Stephan Guth
Stephan Guth (* 1958 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German orientalist.
Life
He studied Islamic studies, modern German literature and philosophy in Bonn and Tübingen (MA 1987 in Bonn). After receiving his doctorate in 1992 as Dr. phil. at the University of Bonn and his habilitation in 2002 in Bern , he has been Professor of Literature in the Arabic-speaking and Middle Eastern-speaking regions at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages (IKOS) at the University of Oslo since 2009 .
His main research interests are modern Arabic and Turkish literature, comparative literary studies and the history of concepts.
