Stephan Josef Dewald (born January 17, 1884 in Elberfeld , † June 25, 1964 in Trier ) was a German pharmacist and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Dewald attended high schools in Opladen , Neuss and Barmen and from 1902 did an apprenticeship as a pharmacist. From 1906 to 1908 he studied in Munich and received his license to practice medicine in 1910. He then worked in pharmacies in Rastatt, Bonn, Neuchâtel and Bad Kreuznach before buying a pharmacy in Neumagen in 1911. He added a wine laboratory to the pharmacy. From 1921 to 1939 he was a pharmacist in the Trier district government, after 1945 he was responsible for building up the pharmacy business in the Trier administrative district and the "Red Zone" and was given the title of pharmacist. In 1946 he was co-founder of the Rhineland / Hessen-Nassau Chamber of Pharmacists and in 1950 co-founder of the working group of the chambers of the French zone as well as co-founder of the working group of professional associations of German pharmacists. In 1950 he became president of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Pharmacists .

Dewald joined the CDU after the Second World War. From June 4, 1947 to May 17, 1951 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . In the state parliament he was a member of the petitions committee and the legal committee.
