Stephan Kuhlow (born November 24, 1967 in Hamm ) is a former German soccer player who played for the Berlin club Hertha BSC in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Athletic career

Stephan Kuhlow came to Hertha BSC in July 1989 , where he made his league debut on August 14 (4th matchday) in the 2: 4 defeat by Stuttgarter Kickers when he came on for Mika Aaltonen in the 73rd minute . Only a week later he scored the decisive 2-1 winner against MSV Duisburg with a penalty kick and thus his first, but also only goal in professional football. He also played two DFB Cup games against FC Gütersloh . With Hertha BSC he won the 2nd Bundesliga in 1989/90 and thus made it to the top German league. But after this great success, he ended his active career as a footballer at the end of the season.

Further life

After his active career, S. Kuhlow studied business administration at the Free University of Berlin , then until 1995 dentistry . After obtaining his license to practice medicine as a dentist, he worked as a research assistant in the department for pediatric dentistry at the Charité Berlin in research, teaching and patient treatment. In addition, he was awarded a Dr. med. dent. PhD. Today Kuhlow is a resident dentist in his own practice.
