Santa Cristina do Couto is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Santa Cristina do Couto belongs to the Santo Tirso county in the Porto district . The community had an area of 7.6 km² and 4066 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Couto (Santa Cristina), Couto (São Miguel) , Burgães and Santo Tirso were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Santo Tirso, Couto (Santa Cristina e São Miguel) e Burgães .
