Stephan Masur

Stephan Masur (* 1971 in Cologne ) is a German artist and comedian.

Life

Stephan Masur studied business administration at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf with a focus on marketing and controlling. He wrote his thesis on circus marketing. During his school days he juggled autodidactically, continued his education in workshops and took courses in dance and movement theater at the Alte Post - School for Art and Theater in Neuss and at the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf. He developed his first juggling numbers together with his sister, the dancer Susanne Masur.

While studying, he made his first appearances, including four months at the Masquerade Theater , the Piste aux Espoirs in Belgium and the Spring Festival Korea . After graduating as a business graduate, he attended the Dutch circus school De Hoogte. He then toured with the Traumtheater Salome, various European circuses and dinner shows as a juggler and artist.

Stephan Masur has been producing his own variety shows since 2005 under the name "Masurs Varietespektakel" with graduates from European and international circus schools with changing directors and choreographers. Since then, the shows have been featured on the Senftöpfchen cabaret in Cologne for one month each year , and since 2009 in the Pantheon Theater in Bonn and other locations.

With the help of Detlef Winterberg, Masur has developed his fictional character “Le Comte”, a shrill baroque aristocrat, in recent years. "Le Comte" is a mixture of juggler and comedian with boleadoras , hand shadow play, chapeau, bell concert and singing saw . This solo program premiered in Cologne and Bonn in 2013.
