Stephan Mory

Stephan Mory (born February 20, 1941 in Sorau ; † April 13, 2020 in Berlin ) was a German physicist , entrepreneur and politician ( SPD ). Mory was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1990 to 1995 .

Life

Stephan Mory studied physics and received his doctorate from Humboldt University in 1974 with a thesis on the technology of dye lasers . He then worked at the Central Institute for Optics and Spectroscopy of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR .

After reunification he was one of the founders of a laser technology company. He campaigned for the promotion of the science location Berlin-Adlershof .

politics

Stephan Mory was one of the founders of the SPD in Berlin-Treptow at the time of political change in the GDR . He was elected to the Berlin city council in 1990 and won a direct mandate for the House of Representatives in the same year.
