Stephanos (lawyer)
Stephanos ( Greek Στέφανο ) was in the 6th century, at the time of Justinian I , a legal scholar in Constantinople . He wrote a Greek index ( paraphrase ) of the digests with explanations. Like the Digest, the work was incorporated into the basilica scholien around 900 (comments on the Byzantine Imperial Law). Stephanos was not involved in the collection of the Corpus iuris civilis , as is sometimes wrongly assumed.
