Stephen Cunningham (* 1963 or 1964 ) is a former New Zealand squash player .

Career

Stephen Cunningham, who grew up in Thames , was in the main draw of the British Open in 1986 and 1987 and was eliminated both times in the first round without winning a set. From 1986 to 1989 he was New Zealand champion four times in a row . He took part in the World Cup with the New Zealand national team in 1987 and 1989 . In 1987 he reached the final against Pakistan with the team . He lost his final game against Umar Hayat Khan in three sets. After the World Cup in November 1989, his career ended at the age of 25. He reached his highest place in the world rankings with rank 42. After the end of his career he earned a Master of Business Administration and worked for the New Zealand Customs Service and the Ministry of Social Development.
